WHAT IS LOVE, REALLY ?

Unconditional love, or agape, reflects the depth of God’s steadfast commitment to humanity, unshaken by worthiness or response. This love calls us to mirror Christ, not merely in words but in actions, as 1 John 3:18 reminds: “Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” The essence of love transcends transactional relationships; it is sacrificial and rooted in grace. Jesus’ humility and sacrifice—leaving His heavenly throne to take human form (Philippians 2:6-8)—showcase the ultimate act of love. His example challenges us to extend grace, even when faced with rejection, failure, or hostility. God’s eternal love shapes our identities, compelling us to ask: “If things don’t turn out the way you imagined, will you still run to the Father?” The Levites, who inherited God Himself instead of land, remind us that true fulfillment lies in His presence, not material blessings. When we trust in God’s eternal promises, we love without expectation, reflecting His perfect love even in imperfect relationships. Jesus highlights this truth in Matthew 5:46-47: “For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others?” True love does not seek benefit but reflects God’s transformative grace, flowing from His eternal presence into every relationship we hold.
